    Kitchen Remodeling Blues

I hate having my house in turmoil. We have been remodeling the kitchen for the past couple of weekends and it's totally torn up. I still have a sink for a while but later today we are putting in the new countertops and hooking up the new dishwasher and sink. Knowing my hubby, we will be without power and water for a long time so I'm drinking water like I've been stranded in the desert and hoping I don't need to use the toilet.

We live in a 75 year old house, so I'm tying to keep the decor simple yet make it fit in with the rest of the house and still be somewhat up to date in style. I have chosen a green color that I can only explain as a little institutional but reminding me of the 50's style. It's called Alligator's Paradise (where do they come up with these names?) It's hard to visualize our kitchen because all of the examples you see are of brand new houses with 12 foot ceilings.

Of course everything we have done so far has cost twice as much and taken us three times the amount of time to complete. The only bright side was that the countertops ended up being less than expected (by only $100) but the faucet is about $100 more than I thought.

My hubby, T or Mr. Sign 'cause he doesn't like it when I call him a gurl, and I haven't killed each other (yet, but there is always tomorrow). Ahh, the joys of wedded bliss!

ahh remodeling.Several years ago we had to have the ceiling redone in the kitchen due to water damage...fun and did the bathroom, the shower leaked behind the wall down into the basement(former owners used a unhandyman who made the 3 stooges look like Father & Son).
Try to replace old wall tiles..ain't gonna happen.
My handyman guy was good very good but 2 1/2 weeks of tarps, holes in the walls, dangling light bulbs is not my idea of fun.
I hope you are videotaping or taking pics of each stage it's fun to look at later..here let me pop in our tape....loading....Ooops not that one(the legs up in the air was wifey uh.....exercising).

I love your pic, you are one pretty lady with eyes pretty enough to light up a room.
If I ever see you at Farmer Jack or Kroger's I'll just yell "hi sign lady".

thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you had enough pepsi left for the rest of the day.

    I'll be back...........

It's not avacado green! LMAO. It's a pretty shade of green. More art deco green. Good God, I just got rid of the avacado green refridgerator 5 years ago and I'm not ready to go back.
