    Saturday Night's Alright

Mr. Sign and I attended a Euchre (pronounced, ykr) party on Saturday night. For you readers not hip to the games of the North, Euchre is a card game played with four people per game with two sets of partners. It's too detailed to get into here but you can play it on-line. It was a tournament with 32 people playing. You start out with the person you came with but will have a differnet partner for each hand. It gets interesting when you don't know someone's playing style.

I didn't know many of the people. We have been doing this tournament for about 10 years and the people seem to change every year. Most were the parents of the hosts' children. We're not in that group. The hostess is a woman that I worked with at a life insurance company in the underwriting department. We have stayed in contact even though I haven't worked there for over 13 years.

I started out drinking my favorite margaritas. I think I had four in a half an hour. I had to slow down since it was becoming hard to concentrate *giggle*.

It's always fun to watch other couples and see how they react with each other as well as other couples. I love to see who fights and who is touchy feely under the tables. It makes me happy to be a couple and makes me feel closer to Mr. Sign.

Some drunk guy (the hostesses brother in law) took my camera and took lots of terrible pictures. I just downloaded them and I now realize that we were a homely group. Yuck! The most exciting person and nicest was a State Trooper. It never hurts to get one on your good side. He was the best looking person there too so that didn't hurt.

It usually only takes about three hours to play ten hands of Euchre. It took over five hours to play Saturday night and it must have had something to do with all the alcohol.

The highlight of the night was when the drunk brother in law decided to bring in the dead Christmas tree that was still on the back deck. I've never seen so many needles on the floor. I have to say that I would have kicked his ass out as soon as he cleaned up the mess. The hostess was too drunk to realize what a mess he had made.

Here's the hostess trying to figure it out.

Everyone decided to decorate the tree using their score card and beer bottles.

    Here is the winner!

We didn't get home until 2:30 am and then we were too wound up to sleep. You know what that means! No kids... you get the picture. (No I'm not posting THAT here, ha ha!)

The game sounds like fun. I have never heard of it before. I live such a sheltered life.
