    Wow!

Yesterday was very busy for me. I took my youngest to a math meet that is a competition between the area schools. My little mathletes took second place which is awesome considering that they are only in 4th grade and competed against some 5th graders.

After returning the kids to the school, I had to begin setting up for a spaghetti dinner. Thank God I didn't have to cook the food. We have another crazy mom that cooks all week to make enough for 200 people.

The night was going well despite the strange weather. It had snowed the night before but warmed up into the 50's during the day. This caused fog as thick as used in the movie by the same name. It was creepy.

Many families came to enjoy the food and company not realizing that a storm was brewing. At about 7:00 we could hear the wind pick up. All of a sudden the wind blew all of the doors open in the school and the kids screamed because they thought that a tornado had hit. The winds have been estimated at 65+ miles per hour.

I had made a 13 foot banner that I stretched across the portico on the front of the school. It's a new thing that we started to make at work using a machine that makes paper banners and uses markers instead of vinyl. I had fought with it all week since we had every type of weather in the spectrum. I had to cut wind pockets in it to keep it from becoming a sail. It stayed up all week and only when the 65 mph wind hit did it break away. A very brave teacher went out in the hurricane force winds and driving rain to take it down for me. He didn't want it to end up int the next county.

We got everything cleaned up and all tried to brave the elements to get home as the temperatures dropped from the mid 50's to the 20's in just a few short hours.

When I got home I collapsed in my chair and tried to visit a few sites but the wireless doesn't seem to like bad weather. I gave up and went to bed.

This morning #2 came upstairs while I was getting ready to inform me that our grill had blown off the deck! This thing weighs more than #2. [insert picture here when I get off my lazy ass] I think I'll leave it there as a lawn ornament.

OMG----right now in New York, there are winds gusting up to 70mph. Weird thing was, it went black---the black clouds came rolling in, and then all of the sudden, it's sunny and bright. This weather is freaking me the hell out!

    Now I'm craving spagetti! *sigh*

Many people think that I would be blown away by the strong winds that have picked up as of late.

Fortuantely, I weigh thousands of pounds, and not even the fiercest gale can thwart my locomotion.

That's one of the privelleges to being the Taker of Gist. You can take that to the bank.

Wow, that makes the UK's weather practically Spring like. We haven't had a drop of snow yet and I don't think it looks like we will. *pout*
