    Whew!

I had to sneak out yesterday and get a haircut. My hair is growing 3/4 of an inch a month due to all the protein.

I'm getting very bored staying at home. It's been so cold that I haven't walked outside much. I'm sick of walking around the house too. I need to get on the treadmill but until today couldn't stand the thought of it. I plan on getting on it today.

I've been feeling quite well. I have some abdominal pain but suppose that's to be expected since I had my guts re-arranged.

I haven't felt hungry yet. At least I don't think so. Everything just feels different in my belly so I don't know what it's trying to tell me yet. I've been able to get down all the protein drinks that I'm supposed to but have to force myself to do it. My water intake is good but not quite what it should be.

My leg is still numb but I'm almost positive now that it's just a nerve thing that will work itself out when I get to go back to work.

On Tuesday, I have an appointment with the surgeon. I hope he releases me back to work. I realize that I won't be able to do everything I did before for a while but will have other things to do. I also see the dietician who will let me know what "real" foods I can begin trying. I've been craving cottage cheese. Luckily that's one of the 1st foods.

I hope that these updates aren't too boring for everyone. I would love to post something exciting but since I'm sitting on my butt all day, not much is happening.

Don't be so fast to get back to work. I understand it's a family business and all, but you have to heal.

Anyway, you will be using alot of energy out shopping for new clothes, so just rest for now.

    Thinking of you!

I understand wanting to get back to work. Be careful not to over do it but I think it will be a good thing. Can't wait to see how you do on "real food." Still amused that you crave cottege cheese.

Hey when you are up to it why don't you try walking the mall just to break things up a little. There is a lot of space to walk in and it would be less boring then the tread mill.

Glad to hear things are going so well for you so far Sign.

Getting your rest is very important after a major surgery like that. Sleep and sit on your butt and walk when you feel you can.

    I love cottage cheese too!

i on the take it easy side too

you may feel up to it, but you never know what is going to nail you

i managed to give myself a terrible 3 weeks of extra pain on a back injury just by vacuuming after a car accident some years ago - i thought i was healed...

I envy you in a way. Not the surgery part (hug) but the staying at home part. I'm sure it might get boring but I'd love to give it a try for say a year or two.

    I hate my job.

surgery takes a lot longer to heal than we think it does... give yourself time :)

    g'luck with the leg!

Take it from a nurse...don't rush back into work esp if they don't know what is wrong with your leg. I am sure you are going stir crazy but it's better to only go through this maddness one time around than to screw things up and have to take off even longer. Been there done that!

Jenn, I hope everything goes well with the surgeon. I'm pleased to hear that you are feeling better.

I love cottage cheese but I can't say I ever craved it but enjoy!

Ewww.. glad someone eats cottage cheese. I know it's not me!

Take it easy and don't rush going back to work right away. I was feeling great the second week and felt ready to go back, but then the third week kicked my ass and I had NO ENERGY AT ALL. I'm glad that I had that third week. If you do go back, try to have someone to back you up in case you need to cut out early.

I'm so glad that everything is going well for you! Take care ..D
