    I Used To Be Intellegent

I can remember a time when I could make complete sentences. Carrying on a conversation was never a problem for me. Words came easily. What happened, you ask?

My theory is that once you have children, they suck every ounce out of you. You yearn to remember nouns that are now foreign to you. Eventually you will remember, but it's usually in the middle of the night when you're trying to sleep and save what's left of your brain cells.

Bear with me, I'm going somewhere with this week's theme.

I am not sure where you are heading but the one thing I will say about "used to be" ... think about the caterpillar and the butterfly! Beautiful things in the end.

Kids will suck the life out of you, that is for sure.

Gurl. . . it is hard to not love those brain, energy, and money sucking children. . . but oh how glad I am to have adult children .. . . they suck a lot less.
    Ciao

    yeah

    you used to be...

now you're building a new you. it's pretty scary to build that new you, because once you realise you have the power, you realise you also have the responsibility. and it's your own decisions that determine the outcomes.

(please do not read the above as preachy - read it as a guy facing the same realisation)

on the "used to be intelligent" thing. if you are thinking about your state right now, remember that losing weight is exhausting from a bodily/biochemical perspective. it is actually tiring for your body to convert fat into energy.

so if you are more tired and forgetful and inarticulate you have: 1) surgery recovery; 2) conversion of fat into useable energy; 3) your entire metabolism is shifting; 4) your diet has changed and your body is having to get used to a new intake regime; 5) emotional changes associated with your weight loss (both physiologically and mentally sourced); 6) other family issues (including historical issues [abuse]) and the pressures from that

    equals: exhaustion

equals: less than stellar mental performance
