    Cellular Phones Are a Pain

Wireless cellular phone companies are a pain in the butt. I was on my third Chocolate
cell phone since July when suddenly, it started acting all crazy again. I was miffed from the beginning of this endeavor since the brand new version of the phone came out a week after I purchased mine. *Heavy Sigh*

I decided to go to the store to see what they could do for me. After registering my name in the queue not once, not twice, but thrice, the greeter asked what problems I was having. I told her and she quietly told me that after 3 phones, I should receive an upgrade. She also told me that if I didn't get my way, to throw a huge tantrum. She then proceeded to tell me that what I had just heard her say was never said.

After waiting for almost 2 hours just to see the technical support guy, I wasn't feeling super friendly. I had been sitting with dozens of others who all had problems that weren't being met with the answers they desired. Finally, when my name was called, the guy took off and left me standing there. WTF, did the guy have to take an emergency dump?

I did what every other person who had just waited 2 hours would do. I waited some more. When he finally returned, I showed him my phone and he tried to convince me that the problem was in my memory card. I told him there was no way it was an issue and loudly asked him what he planned to do for me. Oh, I forgot to mention that the entire time that the tech dude stood in front of me, he was texting and not really paying attention to me. He left again. *more sighing*

When he returned, he had a brand new, upgraded Chocolate phone for me. He had black one and I told him I hated to be a pain, but my husband has that exact phone so I needed blue (I'm so high maintenance). I was pretty excited to see the new phone and did end up getting my way, free of charge. Now I just have to learn how to use another phone.

You go, gurl! Glad you got it how you wanted it. okay, that sounds perverted, but you know what i mean. :)

l like your new page layout, Jenn - and I love your attitude. Now take it a step further: write the public relations fools at your cellular provider and tell them exactly what you've posted here. Should be good for at least $100 credit, which is what I settled for with AT&T when they were jerking me around.

BTW, I love my Nokia tri-band and have had the same phone for 5 years. Hate the flippers, but that's just me.

You waited for two fucking hours? I think they would have had to wheel my dead ass out on a gurney...no wait, the tech guy's dead ass!

I'm digging that the greeter person gave you the down low so you wouldn't get the proverbial screw when someone FINALLY helped you!

I have had a few run-ins with them lately. The first one I was none to pleased with. The second one was much better. Oh and by the way, I hate that registration system. I punch in my number and it says why are you here. Of course none of the categories fit. They have a long way to go. I can not wait to see what happens when I go to get a new phone in a little while.

Glad you got things worked out.

That is just freakin ridiculous. 2 Hours? I would be handing them a bill for my time and letting them know that either they can pay me or pay my lawyer who charges triple what I do.....

Atta girl!! Next time I need help, I'm calling you. I've been having problems with mine and need to get a new phone. I guess it would help if I kept it out of the water and didn't keep dropping it right? I'm waiting to see what comes around for the holidays. I have the Motorola Razor and HATE Motorola. I want to go back to the LG and saw a pretty shiny one...ooooooo!!!

    ;o)

Jillie, pretty shiny one... wow. I am in the market too and thought about waiting to the holidays. Maybe we can get a bunch of bloggers to mass purchase. We need perks.

I liked the good old days when there were party lines and nickel pay phones. Yep, those were the days.

I spoke too soon - my Nokia took a swim in the washing machine today. It's all there on the blog. Oy.
