    Voting

~Update~ I voted, but I'm not telling you who for :)

I've got nothing exciting on tap this week. I'm not even sure I'm going to vote tomorrow in the Michigan primary. I don't feel particularly strongly about any candidate. Well, not totally true. I do feel strongly that some of the candidates should NOT be president.

Are you planning on voting if your state has a primary?

i refuse to declare a political party because i don't actually believe they have the country's best at heart. it's all about grabbing and maintaining power, thus i am not eleigible to vote in the primary. it's small loss though since PA has their primary so late in the game the candidates for the november election are already decided. i do vote every november.

I am a registered Independent. I would vote on the republican ticket but they won’t let me (in CA). We do have some ballot measures (propositions) so I will get a proposition only ballot.

I did some checking. All that is on the ballot for me is the primaries. Much like Lime I refuse to declare party since the parties have access to that information. Besides, I believe in the best person for the job, not the best party. And, after last year, I really believe this whole party thing is bad for Michigan, bad for the country. I could just about have written Limes reply myself just not as nicely.

Here in Hell we only vote on whether or not to have "sweet tea" or "unsweetened tea"....important issues like that. ;-)

Yes, I will but I never decide until the last minute. There have been times that I've actually just wrote in my dogs name. Politicians are just legal criminals.

Love the post below. You are just looking fantabulous my dear!

As for the cheese bra? I would wear something like that without a doubt...lol. It's not easy being cheesy and keep the Packer vibe going!!

I like John McCain, but since I'm a registered Democrat, I can't vote for him, so won't bother to vote. But next November, if Hillary is running, I will vote for anyone running against her.

Lime~ I hate that everyone at the polling place knows my political affiliation. It made me feel so dirty!

Sal~ That is such a bunch of crap about not voting over party lines. Isn't that what a democracy is about?

G-Man~ No where does it ask what your affiliation is on this here blog. And, aren't you on a religion kick on your blog?

Barman~ Let me tell you how many pre recorded phone calls I've been getting. 4 a day!

Katie~ I'm clueless along with you.

Pissy~ I've been there and know you are telling the truth. I thought you all (y'all) always drank sweetened tea?

Jillie~ You did NOT vote for your dog? That is hilarious!!

BTE~ I'm with you on the Hillary thing. Go Packers!!!

If I live to be 200 I will never understand/appreciate the caucus system they have here in MN. I always vote though. Even if you go and write in "Mickey Mouse", it's important to do the civic participation thing. I'm usually an election judge, so that gets me off the hook about discussing party politics. That's useful cos I agree with G-Man about discussing politics and religion in social settings.

NH and WI have the right answer - open primaries where nobody needs to know JACK about you before you go into the booth. As a judge, I couldn't care less about a person's affiliation - whether or not their politics are mine, I applaud them for coming out and participating in the democratic process. I also like making a big fuss over first time voters!!

Only in the primary and only the Republican party in CA. I could get a Dem ballot but I think the main candidates there are to “socialistic” for my taste. When it gets to the general election we can vote for anyone.

What? People still vote? I thought GWB cured people of that when he ran against Gore. Huh.

I get all those robocalls myself. I finally yelled at the last one yesterday and hung up. I know it made no difference but I felt better. What made things worse is I got a phone call on my cell by someone that had the wrong number. I told them they had the wrong number. Then I got to text messages from them and finally a text message from 000-000-0000. This all happened at about the same time. I ended up going to bed early.

Thank goodness Michigan primaries are over after today.
