Finally Over!! Bring on the Cuervo!

The kids holiday gift shop is done! Holla!

Tuesday Set up = 3 hours

Wednesday Shop time = 7 hours

Thursday Shop Time = 6.5 hours

    Friday Shop Time + paperwork + inventory + banking = 10 hours

300 happy kids with holiday gifts for their families (and the fact that I didn't kill anyone)= Priceless

This is the 5th year that I have co-ordinated this. I get better every year at making things run smoothly. I'm getting it down to a science now. We (I say we, but really it's only me working under the guise of the PTA) do this as a service to the students, not to make money. I have to mark the items up to cover theft and miscalculations and I figure that if we break even I'm doing great. Well, I'm happy to report that we made a profit of $500 dollars this year because of bonuses and low theft rates! Can I get a whoop whoop?

You can't imagine how your brain turns to crap after the second student comes through with $3 and needs to buy 8 presents. Mom may get a pencil and dad might get a matchbox car but
    it can be done!

Dealing with the ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) kids presents it's own challenges. If little Bi'Aire (I swear to God this is an actual name. WTF are parents thinking when they name these kids? No wonder he's in kindergarten for the second time, he couldn't spell his name. Neither can I, I had to look it up) didn't get his meds that day, put on your helmet and stay low. You have to reel them back in by peeling them off the ceiling every 30 seconds to keep them on task. Since more than 50% of them are ADHD, I got good at herding them through like cattle. I give today's teachers all the props in the world.

A blogger friend sent me my first birthday wishes. He actually took the time to try to figure out when it was. He was so close (he thought it was today). He made my day by sending me 37 spanks (gentle like I like them) and
sent me an audio file. Thanks Barman! You made my day and even my weekend.

This looks exactly like my cat.

You're an angel for doing the kid's gift shop. You're a saint for doing it more than one year! For that, you deserve to GIVE the spankings for your birthday.

    *bends over*

    Happy Birthday, whenever it is!

Wow! I got tired just reading about all you did. Such dedication! You do know that you'll be expected to do this every freakin' year until your youngest child is finished at that school, right??? :)
    You're such a good mom!!! :)

I'm not really a cat person, but that is a really cute cat!

P.S. Thanks for "props" to teachers; my oldest daughter teaches first grade and the stories she tells and the crap she puts up with..... good thing she didn't inherit the "bitch" gene from me! :)

Are you gonna tell us when your b'day is? :)

Lara~Thanks for thinking of me. *spanks Lara*

BP~I only have one more year left at that school. *happy dance* I've given them 9 years of my life and next year will make it 10. Teachers rock! I would be in jail for slapping a kid if I was one.

P.S. My birthday is Sunday, the 18th.

First unbelievable all that you have to go through for the kids. Most impressive. Also, wow for knowing what you are getting into and doing it anyway, year after year. Even though it must feel good to get done with this for the year, I bet it is a good feeling inside too.

Secondly that was awesome acknowledging the teachers like that. I am sure I do not even know the half of it but I am most impressed by what they do. It is not easy being a teacher these days.

    Happy almost birthday Jenn.
