I Just Killed Myself and My Laptop

My mom came home from work before I left (I work for my parents at their house). We decided to take the quad runners out for a spin. My grandfather owns the 100 or so acres that surround my mother's house so we took to the fields. The sun was so warm on our skin and the breeze blew through our hair. It was fun playing tag as the dirt kicked up behind us.

When I got home I decided to do a few things in the yard. The weather here was perfect. 65 degrees and sunny. I started by pulling out last year's Alyssum that was tangled around the Hiacynths.

Last fall I raked all of the neighbors' leaves. I say their leaves since I only have two very small trees. Leaves from the whole neighborhood blow into my yard. I even mulched them and put them on the flower beds and in the garden.

After I pulled up last years decorative grass I looked longingly at the garden. I decided that I couldn't stand to wait to till it. I got out my cute little rototiller and proceeded to till the crap out of it. The soil is a rich dark color. My grandfather who has farmed for over 75 years jokes that if his fields had that kind of soil, he would be a millionaire. (The joke is that he already is a millionaire.)

I can't wait to plant this spring!

My dinosaur of a laptop is crapping out on me again. It all started when I changed the desktop to a jungle theme. As soon as I did that, the clock would no longer stay set when the computer wasn't running. I've been told that the internal clock battery is tough to change on a laptop.

I'm not sure if I have a virus but when I start it up, a weird thing comes up where the cursor is a duck. The next screen asks me to reset the time. Then I have to shut the whole thing down and restart it. Another strange thing that happens is that it turns the sound all the way up when I had it turned off.

Today, the laptop decided to only run in Safe Mode. I don't know how to get it back to normal. I've tried restarting it and the whole nine yards to no avail. Maybe all my HTML retardedness killed the computer, I don't know.

Okay, your my hero. My ass wouldn't be caught dead in the garden doing any type of yard work, unless I was growing some bagel pizza's in it. Words to live by: I don't do it if it don't involve food....umkay?

but good luck on getting it all fixed ... if you can't, you have a good reason to buy a new Mac! :)

    The new template is cool!

Additionally, I finally posted your second navel shot. Sorry for being so late. I have been swamped with work.

I hope your computer doesn't crap out.

I can't understand why there is a problem. It seems like a dinosaur would like a jungle theme.

What operating system are you using? That is the oddest thing I've ever heard. Of course I don't own a laptop so what do I know. Man you're motivated. You did more yesterday than I do all summer.

The duck part really makes me think you got a virus. I certainly hope not, but...ducks don't just appear out of nowhere - unless you live near water ;)

I'm jealous of your gardening skills. All I've managed to do, so far, is scoop the dog shit out of what's leftover of my garden and move some rocks around that got knocked over.

Jenn, you and computers just don't seem to be getting on do you. LOL.

Have you got your anti-virus prog running? There's a lot of crap floating around of late.

If you are still having problems email Alex and he may be able to give you some pointers.

    Best of luck sweetie. ;)

Holy crow! You are king, sister! Don't let anyone make you feel like you're lazy. I wanna see someone do the physical activity YOU did and then still be able to explain what's wrong with the dinosaur laptop!

I have some GREAT dirt in my yard as well. My veggies will be KILLER again this summer!

I'm also computer dumb..but if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck chances are it's a virus of sometype, this sounds malicious to me.
Anytime you have to start and restart is a good indication it's a virus.

Good luck honey and from now on stay away from Jungle themed porno sites..lol
