    Picture Post

This is a Christmas cactus that a friend gave me. She had it for 5 years and couldn't make it bloom. I've had it a year and it's bloomed 3 times. Notice that there are two colors of blooms. Obviously there are two plants here.

My friend (the mother of our God-Daughter) sent these to me.

MR. Sign brought these home and they lasted for 3 weeks.

The staff at the elementary school I'm involved in sent
    these home with daughter #2.

My best friend since Kindergarten and her husband sent these to me.
It's been almost a month and they still look beautiful.

I'm feeling really good. I worked all week last week. I still get tired but my stamina is coming back. I'm trying new foods every day. Today I had grilled chicken (1 oz.) and it tasted like heaven. It was nice to be able to chew something.

I had been at a plateau with weightloss but yesterday I stepped on the scale and had lost 6 pounds since the day before! That brings me to a total of 41 pounds in 5 weeks. Several have asked how much I want to lose and I'm not really comfortable giving a number. Let's just say, "It's a lot!"

Damn girl, that's more than I've lost in 8 weeks. Good for you! The flowers are gorgeous - getting flowers is a nice little perk of the whole surgery thing.

Each arrangement is more beautiful than the last... I love flowers.

41 pounds is awesome! I'm so thrilled for you! :)

Sounds like more than it is... I'm walking on the treadmill, but no resistance. It makes me feel good. I listen to my body closely and rest when I need to. Thanks for caring "Sis".

Unfortunately my surgeon puts on full liquids for 5 more weeks -- essentially anything we can get through a straw, but no protein drinks. He's quite strict about it, but he's a blessing in my eyes, so I'll follow his protocols to the letter. It will be worth it in the end, and focusing on that is getting me through. :)

My drain comes out Wednesday! Whooohoo

Girl, it's just a number. I'll stop once I'm in a size 14. I don't want to be skinny, I just want to be able to shop in normal stores...
I'll go on maintenance for the rest of my life once I get to that size...
