    Missing Food

A friend asked me yesterday if I miss certain foods. To be honest, I haven't really thought about the things I can't eat, like sugar. I'm so focused on finding something that will meet my protein needs that I hadn't given a thought to eating the junk I used to. Focusing on the positives has always been a goal for me.

At lunch yesterday, I had about a 1/2 an ounce of pulled pork from my friend's plate and I could only eat half of the cup of soup I had ordered. My friend was amazed at how little it took for me to get full.

The jeans I bought not even two weeks ago look huge on me. When I tried them on they fit slightly tightly (that was fun to say). Now they bag in the legs and resemble clown pants. *sigh* Even though I haven't dropped that much weight lately, I can really notice inches lost.

    that's wonderful news jenn.
Maybe you should consider buying clothes at a second hand store such as the Salvation Army(they do have nice stuff)until you get down to the size you want to be.:)

I can so relate to the "rearrangement" stages, even when lbs are not being lost according to the scale. I'm glad I bought so many things with elastic waists, that's all I can say. I just couldn't afford to replace things regularly. I managed not to weigh myself at the health center last night, so I feel pretty good about that. Congrats with your continued positive changes!

See that, just a short time ago you were saying you were not seeing it. The body has a way of doing that but it eventually all catches up.

Good for you. Just don't let those jeans get to baggy ... we would not want an incident ... or would we??? :)

I have to buy new shirts for the opposite reason... my upper body is getting bigger... regularly lifting 200 pound generators will do that to a person though...

I need to say something...I know the pic you posted was all in fun. I know you would never hurt anyone.

It's the shirt. Someone very close to me...someone I love with my whole heart...someone I would die for...battled anorexia and bulemia for 20 + years. This person would get down to 60lbs. and would spend 6 month's at a time in a hospital being tube fed and still thinking she was fat.

She almost died several times. She would do thing's like wear ankle weights or stuff rolls of quarters in her pockets to make her weigh more on the scales. The doctor's caught on to that and started making her weigh in naked.

This person has overcome this disorder, she has been healthy for the past 18 years or so. She will eat anything she want's to and doesnt sneak off to the bathroom anymore.

Anyway, we were out at a buffett, working our way around filling our plates, and this guy had a shirt like that on, he was also over weight. I looked to see what she was staring at and I started to panick after I spotted it.

It took her 15 minutes to start eating. She just sat there looking at her plate. I didn't want to say anything, so I just sat there waiting. Finally she started eating. I thanked God. We continued our meal, laughing, joking, and she proceeded to fill up 2 more plates with food.

I hope this mean's she has truely overcome her anorexia because I don't want to lose my Squirrel.

I was just telling a true life story here babe. Please don't get mad at me.

Manny~ I feel I must relpy to your comment. You know that I would never mean to upset anyone with this photo.

Coming from where I have with weight issues, I found the picture to be funny. It is in poor taste. Would I think a picture of someone who weighs 60 pounds wearing a t-shirt that says "I overcame obesity" is funny? No!

I'm glad you posted your story here. It is a reminder that weight issues are not a laughing matter, no matter what they may be.

    Please accept my appologies.
