Geez, Jen. You had to be terrified there for awhile. I would have been. I hope they don't go easy on these little punks. No matter how young they are. This kind of stuff just ticks me off!
If they wanted to get out of school, that kinda backfired, seeing as how they got locked in for a while! They should have just stayed home & played sick!
Wow this is at least twice this year that something happened in the school or near the school. That is sad. I remember back in my day people would pull the fire alarm and everyone would go outside. That is bad enough.
Now this is not acceptable. I think that they need to have no tolerance and preach to the kids no matter what YOU DO NOT DO THIS! Maybe some jail time would be helpful. I am so happy everything was OK. Now to go after the school for lying.
HOLY CRAP! I would have been scared shitless if that were my kid. I am happy to hear that she is ok and nothing serious has happened. I can't even begin to fathom what must of been going through your mind...So happy to hear that it was not a bomb. WHEW!!!!
a few years ago my husband's school (he's a teacher)was having so many bomb scares the teachers were instructed to keep a 'bomb bag' ready so when they evacuated the building and satin a field for half the day they could still be teaching.
now, you say it was a soda bottle of vinegar and baking soda? this is a 5th grade science fair project (you know the papier mache volcanoes that erupt...yeah, that's the thing) so you school district should not only be shamed for telling lies but also that no staff member could just pick that thing up and see it for what it was and thus causing so much panic over such a thing.
ok, rant done. i'm sorry. i'm in a real mood regarding school district stupidity lately (ask g-man, he'll tell ya)
I'm a mother of two amazing daughters. Sign making is my business from design to installation. I had gastric bypass surgery on October 25, 2006 and have currently lost over 200 pounds. There's a fat girl in my head. I'm trying to kill her but she won't die.
