    It's Blowing In The Wind

Yesterday was a great day. I didn't have to work and I spent the better part of the day on the deck in the sun. After about an hour, I realized that I could easily fit in the patio furniture with room to spare. Last summer, I didn't go out much because the furniture was too uncomfortable for my ginormous ass.

Later, I donned my mp3 player and started off for a walk through the neighborhood. Mind you, the last time I did this, I barely made it around the block. This time I was able to walk a little over a mile in 18 minutes. I didn't even break a sweat. The trip would have been perfect had it not been for the annoying child, who happens to be mine, that decided to Rollerblade next to me. She was worried that I wouldn't make it alone. I guess a year ago I never would have.

I got to go see Dr. Googly Eyes this morning for my yearly exam. You may recall him as the doctor that didn't want me to have weight loss surgery. He told me that all I had to do to lose weight was eat only 3 meals a day and exercise 7 days a week. I told him I was going to have surgery with or without him. He decided to (somewhat) support me. To this day, he still hasn't even mentioned my weight loss (-131 today!). He did say I need to be more observant of lumps in my breast now since the tissue is "different" now. Duh!

He gave me a tetanus shot since it had been 10 years. I know it's going to hurt like a bitch tomorrow.

    ~TMI alert~
Dr. Googly Eyes referred me to an OB/GYN for dysmenorrhea. I can't even tell you how horrible things are for me now that I can't take Ibuprofen (because it's hard on the stomach and since WLS, mine is tiny). I may be having a procedure called endometrial ablation. Do you know anyone who's had it?
    ~end TMI transmission~

I hope all you male figures out there have a fabulous Father's Day! I'll be celebrating with my dad, stepdad and grandfather. It's also Mr. Sign's birthday Tuesday so we will celebrate on Sunday.

dr googly eyes sounds like a world class asswipe. here's my sugestion...eat a spicy bean stew before your next gyn appt with him, then let one crack right in his face while he is down there.

i seem to recall a friend have the endometrail ablation and saying it made quite a good difference for her, but it was a long time ago, i could have the procedures confused...that's the one where they cauterize certain tissues to prevent endometrial formation, no?

Hey Sign..I had that ablation...four years ago now I think...the BEST DAMN THING I ever ever ever did for myself. You will not regret it.

Easy recovery for me, I was at my kids ballgame the next day. I bet you'll do fine.

Be glad to email ya with details that nobody wants to read about like cramps, bleeding and all that LOL....

A mile in less than 18 minutes is wonderful. According to my treadmill, it equals something like 3.3 miles an hour and just over 100 calories. LOL And when I'm on my treadmill, it say's I'm burning a calorie every 11 steps. That's why if you see me walking around, I'm usually counting my steps.

I have a friend with a similar problem, but she doesn't have health insurance. I think I'll push her into getting a real job so she can get this done (after she sees a doctor of course).

I am so glad you're doing so much better. I can't believe Googly Eyes was against you doing it. It kills me when people that don't need to lose weight give advice on how to do it. Everyone is different. HUGS

Jenn, I think Deluzy has had one and you could ask her. I'm sorry to hear about the painful periods; the ability to take ibuprofen was one of the reasons I went with the DS. Unfortunately, I can't tolerate much other pain medication and hormones are out for me.
I truly feel your pain. :(

Congrats on the 130's! I'm down 134 myself, but I lose NOTHING the week to ten days before my period and then whatever I'm going to lose for the month between the time it starts and 14 days after that. Do you recognize that pattern at all?

Okay from one messed up uterus to another-I have the same problem as you, but was told the ablation isn't an option because my uterus absorbs blood this way < > and not ^ v that way. My ob/gyn told me a hysterectomy is what I need to consider if I'm not going to house any more babies. Which I'm not. But there are women I work with who have had the ablation and it's not evasive at all. They take a hot water sort of device and burn the lining of your uterus out and they suck it out with some sort of hose. [I know it's hard to believe I worked in ob/gyn for 6 years what with all my big medical words and jargin..uh huh...I'm all about keepin' it real....] Anyways...LOL, I'm ready to get my uterus scooped out even if it's with a melon baller. Ya know???

Congrats on the weight loss!! That's pretty great!

I just got caught up on your bloggy! I loved the story of the guy who came in for help with dresses and such! Good times!

Sounds like you and Gman had a great time at lunch. Awesome.

Congrats on holding your head high in the face of Googly Eye idiot man. As for the ablation thing - a friend of mine is looking into it because she's having BAD mojo problems with the ole uterus. I've heard good and bad about the procedure...I think that's always the way. Good luck, Jenn!

it must have been fun for both of you to see you make it the whole distance

you to prove your young'un wrong, and her to watch you do it

she probably doesn't recognise it in her own head - but for you to make it when she thought you couldn't probably tipped a bunch of mental dominoes

    i'm so happy for you

Are you able to take celebrex? I know that some people are able to tolerate it on occasion since WLS but it's one of those things that might help more than tylenol.

Since my innerds were yanked out 15 years ago...I haven't had to deal with any girlie girl crap and I don't miss it! Look at it this way...you may not have your monthy "visits" anymore! wooohoooo!!!!
