I found some pictures that were taken in June, which doesn't seem so long ago. I hadn't really thought I had lost much weight since then, but checked back, and I have in fact, lost 25 pounds since these pictures were taken. 25 pounds used to not show on my body at all. Usually, I wouldn't even lose a size in clothing.
I showed my dad some of our before pictures and he sadly said, "That looks like someone I used to know".
This is me, my dad and my sister. I have no idea why I was holding my hand like that. It looks like I'm an amputee.

the deer in the headlights look happens when people actually pose for pictures - it happens to everyone
it's something that models work hard at not doing - that's one of the reasons they try to put themselves in another place in their heads and not be conscious of the camera
in my business (not modeling) i try to send photographers out to take "action pics" not posed stuff for exactly this reason
posed pics - unless they are true portraits - tend to have the overtone of artifice
