    Family Fun

We went to a bonfire Saturday night at Mr. Sign's brother's. There was much food, booze & good company. The fire was huge and so hot that we couldn't get much closer than 10 feet from it or your eyebrows started smoking. (I would have some pictures except my camera on my phone crapped out. This is my third phone in 3 months. I better get an upgrade or there will be hell to pay.)

My brother in law has more big boy toys than anyone I know. He has a Deuce and a Half, an Army Jeep, a couple of Harleys, and several tractors just to name a few. BIL hooked up the tractor to a wagon and we had ourselves a hayride. All the women went on the first round. One of the guys sneaked through the woods in an attempt to scare us. I was on the very back of the wagon and prepared for the attack. Good times!

As I sat soaking up the burning heat from the fire, I felt normal. I was sitting in one of those $5 plastic lawn chairs that I would have never been able to get my butt into a year ago and if I had, it would have crumbled under my weight. I spend so much less time wondering what people are thinking about me and more time having fun now.

Another thing I did that I haven't done in many years is swing on a swing. There really isn't anything that brings back childhood as much as a swing.

Here's Daughter #1 on the swing and #2 pushing her.

    Me and #1.

This one's blurry but I think you can see #2 and me having a blast. #2 is such an entertainer. I wonder where she gets that from?

hey- i saw your comment on kimmyk's blog about peewee herman and then i went to read your post about him cuz i was a huge fan too. your post had me laughing my ass off! i used to watch peewee's playhouse every weekend and could not believe the sexual innuendos myslef! i thought it was a trip when he was connecting the dots in the spaceship and said, "what's that smell?" and then, "oh! we must be traveling around uranus!" classic. :)

I have to throw the chain over the top bar for the most part to keep my feet from dragging on swings.

I still try and jump off of them too.

I'm glad I never grew up....

Great post, Jenn. I was there at the farm with you, though I think my dad leaves your BIL in the dust when it comes to boys toys! I've also always had that fear of cheap plastic chairs. Congrats on those and the swing!

I love a good bonfire and ah, the swings. I pop on a swing from time to time and even jump off but probably only 1 foot off the ground. Not like when I was a kind and I would fly through the air for what seemed like 30 feet (but was probably only 15 feet or so).

#2 following in your footsteps. Good for her.

What are you doing with PeeWee again? Funny most everyone remembers PeeWee. I was an adult when I saw him (and I use that term loosely) and I still loved him. I still can not believe they called that a kids show.

Congratulations on your continued progress and all the things are are able to do once again. Enjoy reliving your childhood Sign.

I love living these moments that I can relate to. Swinging is fun. I haven't done a roller coaster yet. Though I remember the shame when I had to get off one because I was too big.
