    You Are HOW Old?

This coming Saturday marks my 20th class reunion. My two friends that I spent last weekend with had decided not to go. Both have many reasons they should be seen. Both are super successful in their careers. I finally talked S into going with me. Since I had already paid for Mr. Sign to go, she will take his place. According to Classmates.com, most people are not bringing significant others.

Now, the part that has me kind of mad. I just found out that real invitations were never sent out. The only way anyone would know about the reunion is if they are part of Classmates.com and have checked it within the last month. So, from a class of 136 (the largest to ever graduate from our town), only about 40 of us are coming. I'm not sure it's going to be worth the money.

My motivation for wanting to go may or may not be rooted in my weight loss. I'm still about 30 pounds heavier than I was in high school, so most people will still see me as fatter. That is, unless they saw me somewhere in the last 20 years. I was considered very large in high school because I wore a junior size 13. (<-------see pic to the left. Check out that hair and those Swatch watches. Gah...I was such a geek.)

I was lucky to grow up in a place where money didn't matter. We were all basically from the same financial background with most of our parents working blue collar jobs. I don't ever remember comparing what I had to others. I was also lucky enough to fit into all of the cliques. I had friends that were jocks, stoners, brains and psychos. Being accepted by all groups had it's perks.

I still feel like I'm 15 and hope that meeting up with old friends will bring back great memories.

I hope you have a great time. My 20th reunion was a few years back, it was okay but I never had a ton of friends in school so it wasn't a big deal. It was a night out though and the bitchy chicks still seemed bitchy!

Have a great time. And remember, most people will be happy to only have gained 30 lbs since graduation and none of them will look as great as you do, since most of your plus pounds are more muscle that fat after your surgery!

I love reading the personal stories, too. Glad you liked the post.

Fear not, fair lady. I just went to one of those reunions and practically had to smack my head into the table to stay awake. LOL! They all got OLD! There was no dancing, no fun stories and I hardly recognized the hot chick from that class.

YOU....are gonna rock that place out, missy. Just remember to keep a little swing and pop in those hips when you cross the room.

And for cryin out loud...take pics for us.

I have been to two of my reunions. One of them really sucked, my 10 year reunion. People I really wanted to see where not there.

Over a year ago I went to my 30 year reunion. I loved it. Now there were not a lot of people that I wanted to see but of the ones I wanted, most were there. It was fun to see the jocks, the stoners, the geeks, etc still pair off. The Jocks were all acting like they did back in the day. I found that so amusing.

You will make it a great time and even if it is not, you have your friend to fall back on. I think you will have a good time either way. Have a great evening.

Hope u´ll have a great time!

I´ve never really been to a class reunion and I have no idea if I´d go. I hated school and never fitted in. I guess if I´d go it would only be to prove how successful I´ve become or something, and I hate proving that.

Jenn, regardless of how many show up I'm sure you will have a great time.

I've never been to a school reunion. Truth be known I hate school and a lot of the girls were complete bitches. Lol

I wouldn't go to mine. There isn't anyone I would even want to see. Is that sad or am I just bad? LOL

Have fun and be safe if you go. Have no regrets if you pass it up.

I think that 50% of your weight loss came from toning down the big hair.
I'm loving that you're having such a great time
