    A Day At The Beach

We took the family on a 3 hour round trip to see the frozen waves on Lake Michigan. The windchill was -1 degree.

    (Click pictures to enlarge)

    Lighthouse and pier

    We forgot the chairs.

Maybe we need a (snow) shovel

    Is this Antarctica?

    Wait, Mom! Don't leave us!
(If you enlarge this picture, you can see
    the snow blowing sideways.)

    We found a new home.

    The abominable blue snowwoman.

We missed the ice festival by one day.

The waves were frozen at least a mile out from the shore. It seemed strange to be at a place where we are usually so hot. In the summer it's not uncommon to have 90 + degree temperatures.

I know that I would never have ventured out on the ice before losing the weight I have (yes, I still have a long way to go). I'm proud of the fact that I didn't hesitate to do something so memorable with my girls.

These picture's are sofa king cool!

And good for you guy's for not letting the cold keep you inside.

I love playing outside in this stuff. It's the shoveling I hate.

I have never seen anything so cool.

G-man~ Did you put too much sugar in your coffee? That was so sweet!

Manny~ The pics don't do justice to the beauty of the lake. I can't believe how different things can be at the same place.

Looks like you folks had an excellent time at the beach, Signgurl. I think it was wise to have left the chairs at home - keeping moving was your only chance to avoid becoming part of the ice festival yourselves!

Off to do a President's Day raid on the bra tables. My girls are getting way too familiar with my incisions and I refuse to pay full price at this (or any other) point.

Those pics are cool. I can't look to long, flashbacks and all.

It was in the 80' here this weekend. Got to take the Hog out and about Sat & Sun. Wish you were here! *wink*

*S*~ I'm forever in search of a correctly fitting bra that doesn't cost more than my whole wardrobe. It's interesting that my girls have stayed the same cup size but my band size has gone down 6 inches.

Sal~ Quit rubbing it in (ok, rub away)! It'll be hot again here soon enough.

Those are great pictures. I know when I lived in Milwaukee, I would go check out the lake when we would get really cold spells but it never froze quite like that. You look like you guys are in the middle of know where!

I am ashamed to admit that I have never done that with my kids...and I live right here in Grand Rapids...I could have just hopped my butt in the car and been there lickity split...oh well, my daughter was backseat reading while I was reading your post, so, you know what that means..."moooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmm...lets go dooooooo thatttttttt!!" Wow, your girls are beautiful!

You wouldn't have gotten me out there on that ice, not in a million years. But it looks amazing! I love the ice sculptures, I think those things are so lovely.

I love had to come look again. I may have to make it a point to come there next winter.

They are saying we will hit 50 on saturday. Where in the hell does time go?

No luck finding any bra that worked at any price. I've lost a cup size and 4 band sizes. Hopefully, I'll find something in NYC next month, but I'm not willing to invest major bux until I get to a stabile size.

    How cool is that?!

I would love to come up there sometime just to see it. I've known a lot of people that go to the UP, but..we've never gone.

I bet it's beautiful in the summer. I can't wait til it's 90+ degrees this year.
