    No Sleep 'til Brooklyn

I spent all last week sleeping in Mr. Sign's bed (see post a couple below this one) trying to get used to it before he returned home from Phoenix.

Since sleeping alone for the past 7 years, I've never felt so rested, alive and happy. I love having the whole bed to myself, not worrying about covers, farting or snoring (other than mine, lol).

Mr. Sign and I have both lost 125 pounds each, which makes sleeping in the bed a little more comfortable. The problem now is that we can't keep our hands off each other. There's not much sleeping going on in our room. I wake up exhausted. I know, poor SignGurl. I could have much worse problems.

I had resigned myself to trying to stay in Mr. Sign's bed. I still didn't know what to do with the $300 air mattress that's too old to return but should have lasted forever. Mr. Sign got the idea to buy the same mattress and then return the old one in the new box. The store wouldn't be out anything since they send them back to the manufacturer. We both worked in retail and this was how it worked.

Mr. Sign purchased a similar mattress, but it wasn't exactly the same and was $140 less than the old one. I thought we should look for the exact same one (due to the cost factor) so I looked at the receipt and realized that the store had not charged him for it. I could never keep it because I'm too honest (I once got $10 extra from a bank teller and drove all the way back to give it back). Mr. Sign says he's going to feel weird giving it back because he thinks the store will think he stole it. I dunno what to do. I could never sleep on it because the guilt would be too much.

I think I'll try and "sleep" (and I use that term loosely) with Mr. Sign and return the mattress. But then what do I do with the $300 deflated mattress? *sigh*

What Kristen, you to wake up with Mr Sign not being able to keep his hands off of you? I never knew. :)

Good luck. Maybe you can get a couple of those body pillows and put it between you. On second though I doubt it would help. Good luck in the sleeping department.

Hrumph. If you can't sleep on it, sell it on ebay...and donate what you get to the charity of your choice. It's a win win situation.

Of course, I'm going to suggest the American Cancer Society.

In the meantime, treat yourself to some new sheets...preferably super high-count cotton. I can't sleep on satin. Even over 200lbs ago, I couldn't stop from sliding off the bed.

Kristen~ Like I said, things could be worse.

Barman~ Hehe! Tried the body pillows. Nothing works.

Sicilian~ I hadn't thought about the calorie burning aspect.

BG~ I need new sheets. I'm thinking 800 thread count.

The sheet thing is a wonderful idea. I recently bought a set of 350 t.c. sateened sheets - on sale, from Ross, for $33! They are heavenly. I'm definately going back for the 400 t.c. brushed cottons. At $33, who can lose?

Air mattress: get some of that goo that seals leaks (tv shows it to fix tires, for goodness sakes, it should fix an air mattress!) and save the mattress for when the girls have sleepovers. Or have your own sleepover ;)

Friday~ That sounds like a plan with the $33 sheets. The problem with the air mattress is that I spent a fortune for it and I can't find the leak. I need some sleep.

TC~ Um.......No, I think maybe he does that when I'm gone.

well - at least it's only the mattress that's deflated ;-P

i'm going to assume you've gone here already, but...

to find a leak on any air item, cover each area in soapy water - a lot of soap - and look for bubbles

leaks will usually be on the seams, so start there. the kids will be happy to sit on the mattress to up the pressure while you look

hmmmm deflated 300 buck mattress eh?.... umm you can use it as a really expensive mini tarp for like a lawn mower.. or you could always repair the leak with a bike patch... hell you may even be able to find a patch just for air matresses if ya look hard enough in a sporting goods section in some sorta department store.... might even be in wiht the furniture section of said dept. store....

smootches whilst Mr Sign aint looking....
