    Whew!

    Human Stuffing

This Thanksgiving was better than last year's. Last year, I was less than one month out of weight loss surgery. I wasn't sure what life was going to be like. I was terrified that I was going to be the first person that didn't lose weight after surgery. I was afraid that I'd never be able to eat "normal" food again.

There were 24 of us this year at my great aunt's house (my maternal grandma's sister). Most of my family was very nice to me. I was wearing my new black boots with a four inch heels. My grandma could only say, "I've never seen you in such high heels, Jennifer". I reminded her that I had always worn heels when I worked retail. She didn't mention my weight loss, nor did I expect her too. It's weird that she isn't more supportive since she's harped about my weight for so many years. Oh well. I didn't have this surgery to make her happy.

We got our first snow on Wednesday night and it was pretty cold yesterday. The family was discussing how we needed to start our cars to let them warm up. My great aunt chimed in and said that her car warmed up quickly.

My mom says, "Yeah, but you have a Cadillac with heated leather seats, so you are always warm."

Aunt says, "But I always feel like I wet my pants after getting off the hot seat".

Gram replied, "Do you ever check yourself?"

Maybe that lost something in translation, but I was about wetting my own pants.

I didn't really eat too much at dinner, but I ate in between meals which I never do anymore. That made me feel like crap. Things have really changed as far as my eating habits go.

Mr. Sign carved (stabbed) the 20 pound turkey.

Sadly, this is the only picture I took all day. I feel weird flashing people. Not that kind of flashing!

Last night I reflected again on all that I had to be thankful for. I have been truly blessed.

I'm so thankful for the progress you have made in a year.
You and your family are the only one's whose opinions mean a damn thing.

Like you, I had a great Thanksgiving! It's not how people comment on how we look - it's all about being surrounded by the people who truly love us.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy the day!

Mmmmm...that turkey looks good enough to dive into.

Grandma's are funny that way. Mine was always the first to point something out but never the positive. I just wonder if it's their generation.

Glad you had a great day ;o)
