2008 Is Gonna Be Great!

I got over 8 inches last night!

This is what we woke up to this morning:

I took this out the door before I put on my layers of clothes to go clear the driveway. Yeah, that's my job because I choose to play in the snow. I love it! I know all the old men in my neighborhood think Mr. Sign is a loser because I'm the one out there moving snow. Maybe they are jealous that their wives don't blow them...er...their driveways.

We stayed home last night partly because of the weather and mostly due to the drunks out driving. I'm a loser because I had to take a nap before midnight. In my defense, I worked yesterday pulling coverings off of signs for a no smoking campaign at the hospital that went into effect today. It was really cold when I started out and my job was made tougher by having to climb a ladder in snow banks.

I had to climb up a fence to get to a sign that was taller than my ladder would allow. I never could have imagined that I would be climbing on anything other than a Twinkie a year ago. On my way over to the fence, I ended up falling flat out on my a$$. It was one of those slow motion falls. There was a large sign buried under the snow and as soon as my feet hit it, I felt like I was on ice skates. As I was slipping and sliding, I became painfully aware of how many people were in the vicinity. I gave up trying to stay upright and fell a$$ over teakettle on the ground. I tried my hardest to get up fast enough that people wouldn't see me sprawled on the ground but couldn't get up because of the slippery sign. I slid to the edge of the sign and jumped up, checking to see who witnessed the gracefulness that is all SignGurl. I think only one person saw me flailing around. The only thing I hurt was my pride. My body is a bit jostled, but no worse for the wear.

My mother in law always said that whatever you do on January 1st sets the tone for the rest of the year. If this is true, then we will have abundant company and snow. Oh, and Mr. Sign and I are going to fight over the remote. How is your year going to be?

What's Up?

It was over 90 degrees here yesterday. The normal high for Michigan is somewhere around 70 degrees. It's supposed to be around 92 today. Did I mention the humidity? It's like living in the butt crack of this guy ----->.

I had already put my summer stuff away, only to have to drag it back out. Grrrr.......

It's supposed to be highs in the mid 50's by Wednesday. The saying here in Michigan is, "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes".
