Blah!

I had a pretty boring weekend. I did go and see friends on Friday night and after a great night of food and fun, went back to my car to find that it wouldn't start. Luckily for me, since I was an hour and a half from home, my friend let me stay with her. We went back to the car the next morning and got it started. The car has been acting up and I believe it has something to do with bad gas.

I'm really in a dismal place right now. Not looking forward to winter and the cold that it brings. The weather here was in the 70's until Saturday when the bottom dropped out and the high was 35 degrees. I love the snow, but the cold is going to be wicked on my now less fat body.

The situation I'm in has not gotten any better, in fact, things have become harder than I ever dreamed. I'm persevering to try and make things work as this whole thing involves not just me, but my family as well. Thankfully, I have some amazing family and friends who are keeping me on the better side of sanity.

So, please forgive me if you don't see me around as much. I'm trying to work on life right now as it seems to need my extra attention.

I Got Nothin'

It's been one of those blah days where all I want to do is crawl into bed and stay there for no other reason than the dampness and cold. I'm not looking forward to bad weather. In fact, the thought of it this year depresses me. Not being able to run around without a coat on is really bumming me out.

Winning Day

This has undoubtedly been one of the nicest weather weekends we have had here in Michigan in more than 6 months. It was near 80 degrees with a slight wind.

Daughter #1 had an all day softball tournament Saturday. I was so proud of the entire team. They played together last year as Freshmen but didn't really ever get it together. The girls just didn't know how to play and didn't have much team work. The team lost most of their games and had no confidence. The coach was learning to be a mentor and hadn't really figured out how to mold and shape these young girls without screaming and berating them.

This year has been a different story. The girls are much stronger and skilled at playing. It's so fun to watch them as they support each other and share in general camaraderie.

The coach has not yelled once unless it has been supportive. She almost cried when I told her that I was so impressed with her coaching and her treatment of the girls. I explained that I was proud of her for learning to control her temper. She was beaming excitedly after the third game.

I was so proud watching my "little girl" play center field catching two pop flies in the first game. She played second base for the last two games and turned two double plays. I was hoarse from cheering so hard for our little team that could.

The girls ended up undefeated for the tournament and won the trophy.

I saw two Robins today.

Meh

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm starting to loathe the weather we are having. It was 36 degrees on Sunday and this morning it's 9 degrees with a -10 wind chill factor. Add to that the fact that we got more snow yesterday and our county has no more salt for the roads and I'm ready to blast out of here.

How in the hell does Michigan run out of salt? Detroit sits on one of the largest salt mines in the world and we can't find a little to throw on the roads? Whatever! I'm over it.

This winter will go down as one of the hardest here in more than 30 years. Come on Spring, BRING IT!

What's Up?

It was over 90 degrees here yesterday. The normal high for Michigan is somewhere around 70 degrees. It's supposed to be around 92 today. Did I mention the humidity? It's like living in the butt crack of this guy ----->.

I had already put my summer stuff away, only to have to drag it back out. Grrrr.......

It's supposed to be highs in the mid 50's by Wednesday. The saying here in Michigan is, "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes".
